So what can you do with CSS...
This page uses my standard styles plus some extra test ones by including a further "ts.css" stylesheet. And now to see those styles in action.
I am trying out images to the right of links so that colour is not alone in distinguishing between link states. Oh, and adding some small images for a more rounded appearance.
Well some pretty wow stuff but as usual it is tempered by Microsoft's lack of full compliance with the standards and continuing browser bugs in IE. I have aimed for CSS with no hacks but that does prove a problem when trying for any kind of column format so there is one in that format style.
I can recommend Eric Meyer on the joys of CSS and the wonderful alistapart. He has also written a couple of good books on the subject. There are various good reference sites providing in-depth discussion on the vargeries of css such as Glish CSS Techniques and Zeldman - The Daily Report. And of course the W3C´s own CSS pages.
There are also links to other stuff that if you are a developer you may find it interesting or want to try. If viewing the Agent Test page beware of large downloads and complaints about missing hardware if you haven't got sound and microphone capabilities. It needs full Microsoft agent software, voice recognition and reproduction software, and microphone and speaker hardware plus the correct agent character file (for Peedy)!
class="container" I am getting into XML but client side support is limited. There is some Java but it isn't up to much. Really this is a page for me to test stuff but its open to all to view simple stuff that uses other technology than plain HTML.
And what next?
I plan to try and make more use of XML but that maybe have to be backend. I have toyed with XML as the source and my own markup language, applying presentation through CSS. Certainly want to try making sure everything is standards compliant and supports all channels.

Standard paragraph made BIG is shown here in this here text don't you know my mate.
Another Standard paragraph is shown here and it is very nice and long, and winding, and meaningless, in this text - don't you know my mate.
Following is the fixcol area. Each column is 150px wide with a 10px margin.
Get your latest news here on Student loans and grants and allowances etc. The container has the cleafix class applied so no extra divs added purely to clear the floated divs, brilliant!

Why attend university? Gemma Still briefly explains why…

You will also be able to take part in a wide variety of activities from appearing on University Challenge to deep sea diving, you might even get the chance to meet some celebrities under the guise of writing for your university magazine or newspaper.
Plus there's the added incentive of earning as much as twice the salary of non-graduates upon completion of your degree.
And here are some exammples of complex css buttons!
These three UL list based buttons are contained in a container to align with the preceding and following text.

And here in the land of cascades we like style! But we just do not have a lot of it, well not enough to go around for all of you out there!

Safety matters to us and we want it to matter to you, so does it matter, I mean we must know you know if it is yes or no you know. It matters very much to me and my people. You are just as important don't you think? I do and I matter, so you matter, so it matters. You are, and we are, they are, very 'ard work! And boy is this hard work I mean what at the end of the day really does matter? Not matter that is for certain. Matter now comes in five forms apparently; of course we just had the three when I was at school gas, solid and liquid. Now they are into plasma, and two weird ones I cannot remember.
